Quick question. I am helping my friend move tomorrow and I would like to know my actual storage capacity of the durango with the seats down. Everytime I measure it with tape I end up being off, mostly because of the seat angles and the height change. Every website I visit says with seats down the cargo capacity is 88 cubic feet. Can someone tell me what the actual height/width/depth is? 88 cubic feet means nothing to me since my car is not a cube.
You will probably never utilize the full 88 cu. ft. as listed, so measure where you think you will be able to pack stuff in there, and calculate it that way.
You could simply measure the liftgate opening H and W , and then the distance to the front seats. The cubic measurement will get you most of the way there. Anything extra, as small as it may be.

The rear opening and distance to the front seats are your basic width and length available. Floor to ceiling height as well. Don't forget the wheelwell covers or any other protruding objects either. Perhaps a trailer may be your best option depending on what you are trying to fit. In theory, my Legends Car chassis will fit in the back of my D. In reality; Won't fit through the opening. Just sayin'
