Default 4WD Question.

Im currently looking for a Durango. I would like the electric transfer case but this Is what Im looking for, 2HI, AUTO 4WD, 4LOCK, 4LO. I've looked all over and haven't seen any Durango 4WD switches that list them. I know the options I listed are available In the manual shift but what about electric shift. All the electric switches I seen are 2HI, 4HI, 4LO but I want something where I don't have to keep switching In and out of 4WD. Please help, thanks.

You want an all wheel drive then. Not sure if the Durango was offered with a transfer case option you are describing.

As Keaton said, none of the 2WD versions have AWD (so no pavement, high grip, driving in 4WD), and the AWD/4HI/4LO t-case does not do 2WD at all. I have the AWD version.

Depends on the years in question.

Well Im locked onto the 01, 02, 03 years. Since they all have electric cases. Most of the Durangos I've seen on CL say 4WD not AWD only about 1 or 2 say AWD the rest just say 4WD. So If I got one with 2HI, 4HI, 4LO, could I swap In one for AWD, 4HI, 4LO? I know I would also have to change the switch and maybe the TCCM. But would that work? Thanks. Also the manual shift only have the 231 and 242 case, correct?

As far as I know you can swap those cases. You might not even need to swap the tccm, just the switch. My 99 has 2hi, 4hi pt, 4hi ft (awd), and 4lo, but that's manual shift.
