Default Transmission help plzzz.

I have 2000 5.9 Durango when put into any gear it moves like 30 yards perfect then it just stops like it was taking out of gear. It don't slip its just like it goes into neutral then wait a few then it goes again but does the same thing. Is this something that can be fixed without a rebuild or new trans?

Without knowing more info I believe a trip to a shop that can properly diagnose it is in order.

In truth, almost nothing in a trans can be fixed without a rebuild.

What have you tried so far? Have you checked the fluid the proper way? have you had the bands adjusted?

Default 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 doing same thing

jmarshall340 did you find out what the problem was? My truck is doing the exact same thing. The first time this happened I was told the transmission cooling lines in the radiator had cracked and leaked coolant into the transmission. I had the transmission rebuilt and had a transmission cooler put in so this would not happen again. All was good for 3000 miles and it started not shifting again. I can turn the truck off and turn it back on again and it will shift fine for a while. Some times I can drive all day then the next time it wont go 50 feet . At a total loss on what could be causing this.

Any codes? You need to check pressures to see if you are actually getting the correct readings.

No it does not have any codes, transmission fluid looks and smells great, no whining, grinding of gears. Just quietly slips out of gear.
It is in the shop now the mechanic can't figure it out. He has checked pressures, filters, and transmission solenoids. The transmission was just rebuilt in May.
Thanks for the quick reply.
