I own a 02 durango and i have some play in my wheel and also there seems to be some noise under the truck it sounds like chains dragging im unsure of where it is coming from. also how do i know if my u joints and cv joints need to be replaced? Another thing is my A/C gets cold then when i stop it blows out luke warm are?
The CV join will make a clicking noise when the wheel is turned either side. You will hear it, it has its own sound It will get louder as time passes. A universal joint, is a part of the driveshaft that transfers power from the transmission to the differential, and without it, your vehicle will not be able to drive. When your vehicle's U-joint begins to fail, there will be indicators warning you of its impending demise. Looking for these warning signs and knowing there is a problem in advance may save you from having your car towed when the U-joint completely fails. Clunking and Clanging
Your vehicle's U-joint may eventually wear at connecting points to the driveshaft. When that happens and you shift your transmission from one position, such as reverse, into "drive," you will likely hear a loud clanking or clunking. Vibrations
When your driveshaft is out of balance, often caused by a defective universal joint, you will usually feel a vibration that increases in intensity as your vehicle's speed increases. Sometimes it can be easy to confuse this vibration with a wheel balance problem, but there are telltale differences to look for. A vibration caused by wheel imbalance will have a consistent, steady vibration when the vehicle is in motion, but a U-joint failure will cause vibration when both accelerating and decelerating. Additionally, when your vehicle is not moving, the vibration will stop, even if you gun the engine. Grinding or Chirping
Over time, the grease inside a universal joint can dry out and cause the roller bearings to wear small indentations into the section called the cross. This sound comes from the bearings then being forced over these indentations. Loud Banging
At times, a vehicle's U-joint will break apart, separating the driveshaft from the transmission. When this break happens you will typically hear a loud noise, like metal striking metal. Should the U-joint sever completely, your vehicle will fail to respond to any power it receives from the transmission and will be unable to move forward or backward. This can be a very dangerous situation, so be vigilant when you notice your car making strange sounds and avoid letting the problem get this far. Joint Movement
If you have a mechanic’s rack and have noticed any of the previous symptoms, you can check your universal joint and know for certain whether it needs replacement.
Raise the vehicle and with the car in gear and the emergency brake engaged, find the drive shaft. Try to rotate it and if there is any movement from the U-joint, it should be replaced as soon as possible.

I'm not sure on A/c, My a/c compressor click when I turn it on, but that's it, When it engages and disengages it will click , no more than that. When mine wasn't cold I had to have it serviced. I had to charge mine with the cans of fluid.
Good Luck

Reason: wrong advice
So for the play i should replace the stearing box or rack and pinion? also with the A/C i was wrong not making any noise just blows cold air until i come to a stop then it blows warm air what could cause that? Also the ac fan doesnt really turn on until after 1000 rpms so i dont know if i need a new fan motor or how to fix that.
I'd check to see if the electric auxiliary fan under the hood is working. It sounds like it isn't, so when you're not moving there isn't as much airflow through the a/c condenser and radiator.
Ok tomorrow im going to unplug it and try to just hook up to battery and see then if i can get it running if not do i just buy a whole new fan or just the motor for it? Another thought is could it be the blend door?
The main fan spins but the condenser fan doesnt spin at all. so that why im gonna take it out and see if its the connection or if i need a new fan. The fan below doesnt spin i have two fans in my truck one is the metal one used to cool the truck(i believe don't quote me on that) the second one is for the ac. Which is the fan below thats not spinning.
So the relay is good but the fan does spin but still blows warm compressor is good me and my dad think its the blend door stuck do you know where its located?
So did the fan start spinning when you messed with the relay then? If not and if the air is cold when you're moving down the road, it's a problem with airflow through the condenser. All I know about the 01-03 hvac system is that it's all electronically controlled rather than vacuum and that the blend door is probably buried somewhere in the middle of the dashboard.
