Need to adjust ride height before T/S lift
I just ordered shackles for my new '03 5.9L 4x4 to do a T/S lift. I have done plenty of reading so I know how to do the lift, but I noticed that the passenger side of the truck is sitting lower than the drivers side so I am going to have to level it out before doing the lift.
I crawled under the truck and noticed that the torsion bar on the passenger (lower) side was actually cranked a little bit tighter than the drivers (higher) side (I counted the threads coming out of the top of the keys). So if I cranked on it to bring it level with the drivers side, it will be MUCH tighter. I am guessing something is worn out or broken, but I don't know what it could be. Could the torsion bar itself be worn out?
Also, once I make the repairs (if any are needed), how do I adjust it to the stock ride height before making the 8 turns for the lift? I mean, how do I know what the stock ride height is? What do I measure?
Thanks in advance for the help.

all of the information on setting ride height is in the FSM, available as a FREE PDF download in the FAQ thread stuck to the top of the forum, as to why the truck is leaning, im not sure, does it lean with someone sitting in the drivers seat? the fsm should be able to give you a better idea of whats in there to take a look at.
