my 1998 dodge durango wont start and the key i have is not the factory key it was one that was cut for someone what can i do

 

Get a key programmed by a dealer or locksmith. Also please use some punctuation in your posts. Makes it easier to read.

 

Where would I get a key from

 

There is no such thing as programming a key in a 98. They didn't have the sentry key until mid 00 or 01. And won't start is way too vague for anyone to help. Will it crank and not start, does it just click, or what?

 

it starts then cut off right after but when i put the key in it has a clicking noise before i turn the key.

 

Do you get a blinking security light on the dash? Does it stay running if you keep the throttle cracked open?

 

My 1998 Dodge Durango: When i unhooked the factory CD player the car starts for only a second and now the gauges locks and dome light wont work either
