Default Need Help Identifying This

I have a 2002 SLT that I'm replacing the heads on 4.7 liter engine. I'm about to put the right ahead in but I have a question about a hose that I don't recognize from the disassembly. It looks like it needs to be connected to something but I don't see anything that it would connect to. I've included some pics to point out what I'm talking about. Anybody have any idea what this is? It's the one with the white plastic tip coming out from behind the engine block right behind the dowel pin in the pic.

Trace it to where it comes from. It may give you a clue.

Looks like a differential or transfer case breather. If. Judging by where it's at, I would guess it's a transfer case breather. Missing it's little cap. But it'll be fine as long as you don't get water in it.

Yes,. it's a breather tube for the transfer case or differential.
