2002 Durango 4.7L Reverse Lights
I noticed my reverse lights don't turn on. I replaced the bulbs and fuse, nothing. I took it to Aamco and they ran some diagnostics. What they said was the solenoid inside the transmission was bad. The only way to fix them is by rebuilding the transmission and replacing the solenoid.
I have read about the connection on the transmission that could come loose and or needs replaced. But, does this other sound possible? Any ideas?

it is possible that the nss is bad which IIRC IS part of the solenoid pack in the transmission, but you should be able to replace just the switch, or worst case the solenoid pack instead of rebuilding the whole transmission, thats just a shop looking to make a quick buck on work they dont need to (and probably wont) do. I would check the wiring first and then look into internal components.
