Default Durango wont start

I have a 2000 dodge durango 4.7L. Wont start but cranks. I have narrowed it down to an issud with the fuel system. No fuel in the line. Pump has been replaced 3 times. Pimp and ASD relays have been replaced and are clicking on upon start so theyre fine. Pump makes a weird noise when turning to on position. This isn't the humming noise of a pump turning on. I wish it was that sound. But no it's a lot more quite. Not sure what it is but I'm pretty sure the pump isnt on. Also worth mentioning that when this issue first happened the Fuel pump relay was getting extremely hot. I though that meant that there were too many amps flowing through it. Wire attached to relay was also a bit burned. I would have to guess that this means there is potentially a bad ground somewhere. But I have no idea where the pump grounding location is. I although about making my own ground but I dont remember which color wire is the ground for the pump. I really dread having to drop that tank again so if I can find the ground further towards the engine and splice it that way I would prefer it. I also checked the pigtail last time I had the tank dropped and everything seemed fine. So can anyone tell me if this is a grounding issue and if so where is the grounding location for the pump and what color wire is the ground wire for the pump. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have to get this truck back up and running for work ASAP. Thanks!
