started hearing little creaking noise only when i get inside the car. like when i put weight on the sidestep i can hear it. nothing when driving. i tried pushing the car side to side no noise. only when putting weight on it. any ideas?

I used to have a 1984 Mercedes 300D, bought it new. I did all my own work on it so bought the official paper service manuals (not cheap). If the mechanical fuel injection wasn't right, the motor would shake a bit at idle. The Germans knew this was no problem, so the text of the service manual said, "Adjust the idle fuel regulator nut until the complaint stops."
