Tacky Spray Paint (Scratch touchup)
This week I decided to dedicate a week from work off onto my Durango, it needed some attention. Every single touchup has turned out wonderfully, until now. On my hood, I had some sort of damage, paint was damaged I think by hail, very VERY minor hail damage. No dents, just damage my paint and chipped it (didn't even chip it all the way, paint was just cracked in tiny circles)
I was worried it was rust or going to rust, so I sanded it all down and it was rust free. I decided to spray paint these over and I must of not of mixed my spray paint correctly. It's just plain ol' Glossy Black Rustoleum, and I guess a good minute of shaking (as recommended by the can) wasn't enough? It's been a good day, I kind of figured it'd be relatively dry by now, but it's super tacky and sticky feeling after a full 24 hrs.
I am a noob, I am gonna let this slide for a few days and see if it doesn't harden up, if not, would you recommend I redo it by sanding it all away, or do you think I should save time and work by just clear coating it all over so it's smooth? I have time later this week so either or would work, or whatever you suggest.
I've spray painted before for guitars and luthier stuff and paint's alawys dried with 24-36 hours. Even before that, it was hard to the touch, so I'm figuring I've done something wrong.
