Default 2001 Durango misfire

I got a 01 Durango with the 4.7, it's my demo truck so it hasn't had a very good life. I bought it about a year ago with 120,000 on it and only problem was a bad crank sensor so I replaced it and ran great. Just recently went to a derby and like every derby it over heats. But it usually runs just fine afterwards. But now it's misfiring in like 4 cylinders and have no idea why, I replaced 4 coil packs and the 4 spark plugs in the misfiring cylinders and didn't change a thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction what I should look for. And before someone says hook a scanner up to it I do not have the wireing harnesses in it anymore, the hole dash is stripped out. I am going to pull the valve covers off next to see if any rockers or valve **** is messed up. Please let me know I'm running out of options and want to go to a derby on the 9th of September

The oil looks brand new, I took the valve cover off on the passenger side And the rocker arm was off on the intake side on the first cylinder. So I put it on and it still runs horrible

4.7s dont like getting hot, its the whole thing about an aluminum head on a cast iron block, tends to destroy head gaskets.

honestly, we arent going to be able to help too much over the internet (we cant see or touch the truck) without the codes, i know you said you cant hook up a scanner, but that is whats going to point you in the right direction at this point once the easy stuff is ruled out.

Well I figured I would give it a shot to see if anyone would have an idea, I guess I will just drop my 318 and 727 trans into it.
