Smile 2002 Dodge Durango 4.7 V 8 (Dieseling)?

Hello Durango Lovers I need your expertise. My 2002 Dodge Durango 4.7 V 8 with 177,000 miles is acting up. Once I turn off the ignition it still continues to idle/ run after the key is removed for sometimes as long as 1 or 2 minutes. A co worker told me this is something called Dieseling. Fuel is not shutting down, ignition system failing, or possibly coils? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it could be dieseling but that would mean the fuel injectors are still firing after you turn the key off if that is whats happening I would expect it is something electrical, maybe a sticky ASD or fuel pump relay (it controls power to everything in such a way that the computer can shut it down in the case of an accident).

start with the simple stuff the ignition and fuel systems are getting power when they shouldnt, figure out why and fix it.
