Hi all. I am working on the new to me 2000 Durango that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I have the dreaded ABS light on the dash and no speedo at any speeds...So I went and ordered the https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Doorman 970-024 ABS Sensor to replace the one on the differential. The old one was definatley broken and a real bear to get out.. I installed the new one and got everything buttoned back up and left the negative terminal of the battery off for about 30 minutes. Hooked everything back up and went for a small test drive and still no speedo and the ABS light is still on. Could I have mis-installed the piece? or am I missing something else on this?
Thanks
Steve
Thanks
Steve
Pull it out and check it for metal shavings. When my rear differential went out, I topped it off with fluid one time just to get me by right before I replaced it and when I did it picked up all the metal shavings in the pan on the tone ring and covered my sensor in metal and it couldn’t read anymore. Not saying your rear differential is bad, but it’s easy to rule out. Just pull it and make sure it’s clean

I had the same issue. ABS / Brake light on. Ended up having to replace the Master Cylinder, the Brake Proportioning Valve, ALL brake lines and the rear ABS sensor. And I STILL get the ABS / Brake lights on. GRRRR. My last option is to change out the 2 front ABS sensors. Interestingly, they only come on sometimes, mostly AFTER I've used 4WD.

4 wheel ABS is a whole different animal. You should get the codes read, and see what its whining about.Originally Posted by DerekJR321
