Default Please help. 01 Durango

Ok SO... a few weeks ago my 01 durango wldnt start. We had some joke of a craigslist mechanic come look at it. He says its fuel pressure reg. Ok! $100, replaced, still nothin! So i checked the codes in my truck, did my research and found it could be a bad cam/crank shaft sensor, $80 together, replaced. Codes still shown after disconnecting battery, also it still takes 2 cranks to start. Ive also had an evap leak code since i bought it. Was told thats no big deal and its never caused an issue. Anyway, Jan 24th (my birthday) i went out to start it, 2 cranks, started fine, runs about 10mins, im gettin the kids bundled up for school, i hear it shut off, go outside, 2 cranks, starts back up. Drove ok 5mins to the highway, i start accelerating to get onto the highway and it starts sputtering and bogging down like it wanted to die. (It did this 4 times). I have 2 toddlers in the truck at this point so i pulled the hell over, not risking it dying in morning traffic in the middle of the highway. Had it towed home. It runs ok off and on. A couple days later, heading to the store, stop for gas, as soon as its put in park it shuts itself off. Took it to goodyear to hopefully fix the issue, ended up gettin a free diagnostic bc they cant find the issue!?!?!?!?!? WHAT?! So now im playing a guessing game that we cannot afford!?! Also i need to mention the check engine light has been on since i bought it 2yrs ago. Never gave me an issue up until just recently. Please help. One minute its doing ok, the next minute its tryin to kill us! Any help would be extremely appriciated.

Ask your mechanic if Mopar sensors were used. Aftermarket sensors usually cause issues with these vehicles.

Luck of the draw. If you are still getting codes related to the recently replaced sensors, you need to replace them with genuine mopar (Dodge) sensors. More expensive, but, they actually work right......

Default sensors

Could my 02 sensors be bad without throwing a code? Its parked right now and i want more than anything to get it going reliably and safely. Its been temporarily replaced by a chevy and i hate it. Im at a loss. Can someone give me a list of things to check based on symptoms i have posted pleeeeeease??? It may still be throwin the p1391 code bc we havnt had the time to start it 40 times and drive 40 miles. I believe is what i heard to reset codes... so i dont want to be in a hurry to replace brand new cam and crank shaft sensors with the mopar ones just yet, incase its due to some other issue.

Disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights, count to five. Turn off headlights, reconnect battery. Codes should be reset. If they come back, you still have a problem.

If you suspect the O2 sensors might be bad/lazy, disconnect them. (front O2 sensors) If the truck runs better without them, then they are bad. O2 sensors have a variety of failure modes that won't set a code..... they just lie to the PCM, and the PCM doesn't know they are lieing, so, it believes what they tell it. Which is likely wrong.... Funny performance problems result. (but, won't set cam or crank sensor codes.)

Default still there

Ok we put MOPAR cam and crank sensors in today. Tried several ways ive heard about to reset the codes. Its just the p1391 (and check engine). They still pop up, BUT the truck seems to be starting and running a little better. Ive heard i have to take it to a dealer to have them synced?! And ive also heard theres a "re learning" process, does that mean i just need to drive it around for awhile and it should eventually go away?

Also i read somewhere on here that mopar sensors are supposed to come with spacers so they dont get pushed too far back. We looked at the sensors we replaced (with no spacers also) and the silver pieces are scratched up pretty bad and we barely drove with them in. Could that possibly be our problem too? No spacers?
