Default Transmission problems

Hi folks, I have a 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9 R/T. It only has first and second gear, shifts from first to second and that's all I get. My first problem is figuring out which transmission that I have. A friend told me where to find some numbers, pk52119758 AA 3150 1437 , so I found them but they are Greek to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day

It's a 46RE. Your options are 1) fight it, try different things, buy parts, get frustrated, or 2) just pay a shop to swap rebuild it. Rebuilding is not cheap, but it's one-and-done. I did 1) a bit, then did 2). Zero regrets. That was 30,000 miles ago.

thank you for the info. Guess I'm gonna have to make a trip to the junk yard. I like the idea of changing it from a automatic transmission to a standard transmission, for me it would be the best option. Thanks again

that is going to be a HUGE amount of work, you will most likely need a donor vehicle with the manual trans in it to make it all work properly. (FYI durangos NEVER came with a manual trans from the factory)
