I have a 2001 Dodge Durango SLT 4 by 4 5.9 liter I was wondering if I could swap out front hub assembly in the rear end from my Durango to a Dodge Dakota or Ram that is 5 lug would this be possible I know from 98 to 03 most parts are interchangeable

I've been wondering the same about the front hubs. The Dakotas of same year range are the same 6 lug pattern as our Durangos so you'd be looking at a ram. My buddy measured his 9.25 out of his ram withe drum brakes and told me it measured 69 1/2 inches drum to drum. So if the Durangos axle is same width I imagine you could get shafts out of the salvage yard and slide them in then just have to worry about the front hubs

Curious... why would you want 5 lug?

My reason would be because it opens up opportunities for a SAS with matching lug patterns without replacing rear axle. I don't know for the OP though. Maybe more wheel options? Only thing I can think of

I can not find rims for my car at all they want a couple hundred extra to custom drill it because it a weird lug pattern so I figured it would be easier to switch hub assemblies and rear axle I live in Texas and I've looked everywhere nobody has anything and I do not want to use wheel adapters
