air conditioning quesion

ok when i start my 2001 durango and turn n the ac it never kicks on to run of corse it blows air out but the ac unit never starts, could this be the clutch ?

most likely low refrigerant level from a leak. if the low pressure switch trips due to no refrigerant...it will open the circuit to the compressor cluch. Its designed this way to protect the compressor.
