Default What do i need to do to fix the cruise control problem?

i have a 2000 Dodge Durango with a 318 Magnum it overheated one day and then the cruise control stopped working. When it over heated it melted what seems to be a vacuum hose than I have not replaced. I replaced the clock spring and the led display on the dash shows that the cruise is on but it doesn't work.

One this is the 2nd Gen Ram section. You need the 1st Gen Durango section to get better help. But they vacuum line is probably for your cruise control as cruise works off vacuum

the cruse works off vacuum?
I have a vacuum nipple located on the drivers side of the intake just behind the throttle and I have no idea what goes there. It sucks air in and if I put my finger over it the engine idles way down and tries to die. I have searched all over the engine bay but cant find any loose hoses.

Follow the cable from the throttle body to the cruise servo. Once you have found it, find the vacuum line, (if there is one) see where that goes.

I took the Durango out for a drive this afternoon and it ran better than ever and the Engine light was off hell I pulled over and turned it off then to ACC to see if the bulb was blown. That light has been on for 3 years for EVAP leak so I checked it weekly for new codes. Sure enough replacing a coil pack and crank sensor was the magic combo it needed.
