has anyone ever put a nv4500 in one of these?

If you want to do it, just do it. It's all just wrenching, cutting, welding. If you're looking for a full tutorial, there isn't one.

I could understand putting a manual in a RWD only model, and then I would use a proper box since the NV series of transmissions are weak, not really worth the extreme effort to make it work, at least in my opinion.

NV4500 is a pretty stout trans.......

The NV4500 is a strong transmission, it just doesn't shift real quick.
