Default P0201

Hi im new to this and need some advice. I have a 2000 dodge durango 5.9. It had a p0201 code which is i think failed or open circuit injector 1. It ran great until code popped up. It shoots raw fuel out of exhaust and white/grayish smoke and runs rough. Doesnt overheat and no oil in coolant and no coolant in oil. Towed it to a shop and they said i need a new computer and a bad head gasket and said exhaust doesnt smell like gas but smells like burnt coolant. They said the wiring is fine. But before i took it to shop all i smelled was raw fuel and it was dripping out of exhaust and was eating gas since mileage was dropping. I ordered the computer already.

Is it just a computer or worse, a headgasket

You would have to do a compression check. If the shop told you it was a bad head gasket, they might have already done that. Or you can buy/rent a combustion gas test kit at an autoparts store that can test for a bad headgasket.

Ok ill try that since i dont think they did compression test. It is weird though that a p0201 code would show up same time as blown headgasket since there has never been smoke out of exhaust before that code showed up

You need to address the code, and the raw fuel dumping out the exhaust. That is likely the cause of all the smoke as well. Check the resistance of the injector, and also check and see if it is grounded out. (that would have the injector constantly open...... which would give you a miss, and raw gas running out the exhaust.) It's either a bad injector, or the control side of the circuit is grounded out somewhere.

Well the mechanic said the wiring is fine. And i changed out the injector 3 times still same thing. Im hoping its a computer and not head gasket like mechanic thought

If the wiring is good, and the injector has already been replaced, PCM is a very likely bet. Head gasket won't give you that code.
