Exclamation The dreaded spark plug question

Hello everyone,

Yep, I am bringing up " The dreaded spark plug question"

I have a 2001 Durango SLT+ with the 4.7L engine. I have been digging through older posts and (haven't seen alot of them dedicated to the 4.7L but) from what I am seeing is that the preferred replacement is the Champion Copper plugs (439) gaped to .40. Is this still true today? I also have seen that platinum plugs should be avoided like the plague, are the Iridium Champions also taboo??? I know plug technology has changed over the years and I want to do right by my Durango.

I've been running Champion copper plugs in my 4.7L since day one. Change them every 2-3 years.

The 4.7’s do not like anything other than OEM or equivalent cooper core. Change every 30k per the maintenance schedule.
