Transmission
My transmission is out of my 2001 durango, my cousin called and said he has a transmission from a 1999 dakota 4x4, v8 engine like mine. Does anyone know if this transmission will fit my durango ??? Thank you

Would be helpful to know what engine is in your Durango and the Dakota. Are both 4wd? (I know the Dak is but is your Durango?)

Dakota is likely a 44RE, your Durango probably has the 46RE, it would work, but, it's a weaker trans. You would also need to change the electronics in the transmission, to match the year of your truck, things changed from 99 to 00. They aren't compatible.
