They are both 545RFE transmissions...... what the differences are though, couldn't tell ya. What do you want to put it in?

 

heyyou, thanks for the reply and info.. the one tagged RFE is in a '03 durango i picked up with 4.7 and 4x4, the other, marked 45RFE is one i found online. Guy says he pulled it from a 2000 durango, for a 03 durango like mine, but it was wrong trans.. so, very confused here

 

Chrysler did some truly odd and strange things with engines/transmissions over the years....... best bet may be to try and find one out of the exact same year as your 'Rango...... better odds of it being correct that way.

 

i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9l that im working on 4 a friend, he bought this truck used 6 months ago and now its bleeding trans fluid bad and found out the problem and im trying to get parts and all wrong went to napa and finally got 1 part right and still the other places playing dumb im trying to figure out what kind of trans i got the sticker has tpktk 160986944 / ps2119823aa on the transmission what do i have?

 

What engine? Just as a wild guess, I'd say 46RE.
