How to bypass rear heater

Hey guys,
I have an 2003 4.7L Durango with the rear heat and A/C.
I've been seeing quite a few posts on how to fix the rear heaters. If I were going to keep the truck, I'd use the great tips you provided. However, I'm hoping to be in a used 2019 R/T by February!
I want to bypass the rear heater all together to save money on all the expensive pre-made hoses.. The heater hose after the auxiliary pump is leaking at the splitter and I want to get rid of it and just use the front heat only.
It looks like I might be able to route 2 generic heater hoses off of the 2 fittings on the water pump right to the front heater core? (lots less expensive than the pre molded ones too!)
Has anyone done this, and can you provide any tips that could help? Like which one goes where, or doesn't it matter.
Thanks!
Michael
