Try rapping on the door panel and rolling the window down at the same time. If the doesn't work, remove the door panel and using either a test light or power probe to test the motor.

the motor works because i can roll the passenger window up and down no issues with the driver switch

It maybe either the switch on the passenger side or the window lock in on, at master switch.

The master (driver) switch goes bad all the time and causes the other windows to be locked out. Assuming this is your problem either replace the master switch, or install a jumper wire to bypass the issue inside the switch. There are a couple articles inside this sticky you can read including directions of how to install a jumper wire it is very easy and costs nearly nothing.

Sometimes if you bang on the master switch while somebody tries to roll down the passenger window it will go. If you're lucky enough to have this happen you can be basically 100% sure the master switch is at fault without getting into too technical of troubleshooting.

Otherwise like said before yeah bad passenger switch but less likely. Here an important question... Do the back windows work normal?

I've owned 3 Dakota's/Durangos and they all needed new master switches.

Just realized this is kind of old thread. Did you ever fix it?

It could be a bad master switch, But the information I read. The right front window roll down and up with the master switch. That why I was asking if the window switch was locked and the owner didn't say if the other windows didn't roll down or up either.
