I figure some of you guys are in the same boat as me. When I got my Durango it didn't come with the keyless remote. So I thought you could just buy a remote and self program it, turns out I was wrong. And I didn't want to pay $230 for a dealer to do it. After a little research I found that you can buy a OBD programmer for $40 and it should do the trick. My heart sunk after I brought it and read that the instructions said you need one working remote for the programmer to work. Out of curiosity I decided to try it anyway. Five minutes later and it worked. I ordered a second remote off eBay for a backup. Now no more having to stand in the rain trying to unlock my truck. (The programer is a dorman 99164 if you need one)
