I have a 2000 4.7 SLT Durango. The two-piece (metal+plastic) front bumper rusted off and I’m looking at the one-piece bumper for 2001+ models. Will the below fit on mine? If so, I have all of the hardware from the two-piece. Any additional hardware for the new fit?

It will work. All the 1st Gen Durango and 2nd Gen Dakota bumpers will fit.

 

When looking at the 1 piece, it looks like it mounts behind the fogs but on my Durango, I don’t see where that’ll mount?

 

Have you ever pulled the bumper before? What you see behind the fog light hole in your image is the fog light mount, which is flimsy plastic.


Bumpers mount to the frame. Note the frame mounting points on either side of the radiator.




My 03' Dak has the 2 piece bumper. BTW, if you end up needing a set of OEM fogs, I've got em.

 

I’m actually completely replacing the two-piece bumper so now that I think about it, I don’t think the bumper cover (1-piece) will work as it needs to slip over the existing bumper which my existing one is the two-piece. I like your fogs though, where’d you get those?

 

You completely lost me there. The one piece bumper completely replaces the 2 piece bumper and bolts up the same way. I got the LED fogs on Amazon.

I’m just not seeing where it’ll mount to my Durango? Aside from the mounts behind the fogs on the 1 piece? On my two piece, the upper bumper has the welded brackets that mount the two piece to the Durango?

 

Okay, now I see the problem. You started out asking if a 1 piece front bumper would fit. Then along the way, that changed to a bumper cover. So that's not an actual bumper, it's just a skin.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit as two piece and single piece are all the same shape. Looks like there are overlapping tabs at the top and at the sides and once you put screws in those, it'll lock onto the actual bumper. You'll probably have to pull the bumper to get it on though.
