Default intake manifold gasket

Does anyone have one of these gaskets they use for intake manifold for the 4.7L? I saw this when I took my intake manifold off but when I look for intake manifold gasket kits I only see the 8 rectangular silicon gaskets. This gasket has a part number of 47LKQ but don't see anything for that when I do a google search. My intake manifold had both, that is, this gasket and the 8 rectangular gaskets. A real head scratcher.

That looks like an aftermarket part. I've seen them on some performance builds where they want better fuel atomization. As far as I know the stock oval gaskets are the only factory gaskets used on the 4.7.

I did find this. Might be helpful. Looks about the same but apparently they use it to keep crap from getting in to the heads.

I don't really see the point...... If it were a diesel, and those were grid heaters, then OK, but, for a gas engine?

And if your previous motor got munched by a dropped valve seat, I would like to think that the rebuilder would be smart enough to ensure the intake tract was clean before reinstalling it......

I see it as just a gimmick....

I would love to hear how pieces of a valve seat could end up in your intake manifold to begin with. Even a catastrophic engine failure like that would have a hard time pushing debris back in to the intake I would think.

They are about $110 for a set too.

Very Interesting! This is from a crate engine that I had installed, but didn't think a crate engine came with intake manifold already installed. Now wondering, did the shop that installed the engine put those on. Anyway... it made it pass warranty but one of the heads ended up with a burnt valve. The machine shop said the head was bastardized real good ... three different sized seats in one head and over sized valve stems. smh.
