Default Putting a side window back on track

I am in Southern California with our Santa Ana wind conditions in while driving down the freeway a strong gust of wind knocked my rear drivers window off track. The motor appears to still be working. Can anyone direct me to a thread or a YouTube video on how to put it back on? I've got it covered with visqueen but winter is coming and we will have snow if I don't get this done ASAP. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I'm terribly sorry. I thought I selected Generation 1 and I did fail to tell you it's a 2003 4.7L 4WD. My apologies. As far as I'm concerned, the last good year. Let me stop talking now before someone starts dumping on me.

Let me preface this with saying I have NOT worked on your generation or model vehicle. What may have happened is your window regulator failed from lateral stress. Pull your door panel off and look inside. If you see cables hanging loose, they are off track. Get yourself a new regulator. I generally get them off Fleabay. It looks intimidating but if you take your time, it isn't bad.

Assuming you have the new regulator and have the inner door panel off. Get a couple of big suction cups like you use to pull dents in the body. Disconnect the window glass from the regulator assembly. Now move the glass all the way up and put the suction cups on the glass so it doesn't slide down. You may have to get the cups wet for a good hold. Disconnect the electrical plug from the regulator. Unbolt the regulator from the door frame and remove it from the door assembly. Take lots of pictures as you disassemble it so you can refer to them when you put the new one in. Installation is the reverse. When the get the new regulator in, run the window mount part to a point where you can bolt the window to it. Hold the glass in place with one hand and move the cups up the glass to use as handles. Lower the glass and clip or bolt it to the regulator. Run it up and down a few times to make sure it's not binding. You're done. Put the panel back on and that window may not give you any trouble.

I got an '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee once that none of the windows worked. The first regulator took me two hours to replace. By the time I got to number 4, it was 45 minutes.

Now, if this is just a beater and you don't care about the window working, you can get a small C clamp and clamp the window in place inside the door.
