I found a loose wire with this sensor attached to it in my engine bay. It was located to the left of the radiator and underneath the air intake. It looks like some plastic has broken off of it and has the numbers 0243 stamped on it. Does anyone know what this sensor is?

 

By the looks I'd say an ambient temperature sensor.
