Default Mopar oil filter

What are some thoughts on the Mopar oil filters? I have the 4.7 magnum in my 2000 durango. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to filters, so anything helps.

Just as good as others. I try to stick with OEM filters whenever possible, whatever I'm driving, but I have also used Fram in the past with no issues. (some people will tell you to avoid Fram at all costs, lol)

last I checked the MOPAR oil filters were being made by purolator, good filters i wouldn't hesitate to use them, I tend to buy the Purolator filters bc they are easier to get at the local store.

that said there are only a handfull of companies that make filters at all (3 or 5) and the rest are all rebadged duplicates. (i believe FRAM is made by honeywell and have a habit of delaminating the media from the endcaps if you run extended drains)

Yeah but which Fram, the orange can? Need to be a bit more specific as every brand has good and bad.

The Fram Ultra is all I run. Metal endcaps with silicone drain-back valves and wire backed fully synthetic media. Very highly rated on Bitog. Purolator developed a bad rep due to media tears, but I believe their design has changed now. Their rep was still bad on Bitog, last I checked. I run the Ultra for 15K (two oil changes). I drain out the old oil and slap it back on.
