Strange question....on the outer brake pad, does the clip that extends down go over or under the caliper slides? Seeing conflicting info out on the interwebs....they came off with the clip UNDER the slides but it doesn't seem right.

You would be correct on a 2000 and up 4wd Durango as the outer brake pad is different. The "clip" is actually made onto the pad for the '99 Durango . Come to think about it.... most things are weird on this '99 as compared to the 3 2000 Durangos we have.
