OK my Question to you the pros is I have 2003 Dodge Durango 4.7 V8 can I swap it out with 2004 Dodge Durango 4.7 V8 without a lot of headaches? I'm just learning about mechanics and I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you for ur time and patience, much appreciated

Yes, those should be identical engines, so any headaches should not be related to compatibility.

Thank you for responding and the information you provided, I have found the 2004 V8 replacement motor still in the vehicle so I can start it and hear it run, do you recommend changing out any specific parts or checking certain ones before installation into 2003 vehicle besides of course new fluids? Thank you again for ur help

Somewhere (sometime?) there is a difference in flywheel teeth flywheel sensor, something like that - affects PCM count.
