So do the dakotas of the same year have the same shafts and tcases as the 1st gen durangos?
I got the old girl on the road but theres a helluva howling sound from the tcase. I think its the planetary, before I put it in i spun the main shaft a few times and....it didnt sound like it was rolling in there very smooth. But I need wheels.
I need to look for a straight swap over tcase. There are no wreckers in my area that have 1st gen durangos.
Seems thats all they go by when asking for parts. Ive tried just asking for a NP231DHD and the phone just goes dead, then they ask what vehicle.

Should be if it's a V8. The V6 ones may have the 42re and a different spline count.

Not sure if this site works up there but car-part.com has interchange lookup and let's you search junkyard inventories. Gotta call places though, I've never once got a response by email.
