Hello my fellow Dodge owners. My name is Gladys and I'm new to this forum or the site. And I am a proud parent of a 2001 Dodge Durango sport. Well right now I'm not too proud cuz I'm having issues with her. And that's more or less the reason why I joined this forum to get insight from other people who have dodges so I can take from their experience and use it. I believe everybody has a different look on things so opinions to me are not like or they could be a holes. But each person's experience is different and that's why I plan on gaining from joining the forum.
So I'm not trying to make this lengthy or anything a long winded but I've had my baby for a little over a year now ever since I got her she's always has it engine light on. Took it to the shop the code she was throwing was EVAP system. So I changed my O2 sensors and the light went off for a little bit but then it came back on. Mechanic says it's probably electrical to do to deal with the EVAP. When I first got her the heater worked then after it went out and it will come back on a randomly and then now it just doesn't come on. So I start looking at my coolant lines and up against the firewall and all that stuff to see if maybe there was a leak or something and I checked my auxiliary pump and that was bad I should have replaced it when I seen it but I didn't have the funds at that time. So finally a blue and I got a new one I replaced it and then when I turn the car back on after I replace the pump my idle is off the scales it goes up and down up and down. So I'm thinking maybe I will vacuum hose or something I checked all my hoses I don't see none that's loose or disconnected. So then I go down the list process of elimination check my oil it's not milky so I didn't blow ahead. Check more or less everything that's visible wires connectors nothing nothing. So then somebody suggested I changed my spark plugs that might be a cause of it so I believe if I'm going to change my spark plugs I need to change my ignition coils to so I just finished doing that about an hour ago thinking that might be the problem but they needed to be changed anyways. Turn the car on same problem I don't up and down up and down. So that's where I'm at with it right now I just gave up shut the hood and said I'll deal with that later date. So I'm throwing codes p1734 p1781 p1733 p1732 and p0750. I've only gotten up to p1781 trying to die do a diagnostic over the internet you know looking up these codes to see maybe it might be something I can fix on my own but I got these codes before I put in the new spark plugs and the ignition coils I got the codes without any spark plugs or ignition ignition coils in the vehicle so now I'm going to go do another scan and see what the codes are but anybody that has any advice for me what these codes as they are right now I would really appreciate it. And I love my little Durango she's a beast. Okay thank you everybody have a good day

Your trans codes sound a lot like a bad solenoid back, or, a bad connection to the trans. Check the harness, starting at the trans, make sure everything is plugged in good, and the wires aren't pinched/broken somewhere.

Your idle problem does indeed sound like a vacuum leak somewhere..... finding it is the fun part.

Moving this to First Gen Durango section for ya. Welcome to DF!

Smoke machines are good at finding vacuum and evap leaks.
