Default electric gremlins

Ok.

2000 durango.

I was trying to charge the AC unit. pulled a vacuum, connected the hoses, put in 1 can, started the engine.... blower fan isn't kicking on. Also the dome light isn't turning on when the doors are open. Weird.

Turn the key off. Dash lights go out but.... the engine is still idling... Pulled the fuel pump relay and shut her down.

The fuses look good. I even swapped the blower motor and ignition fuses.

Any idea what's going on here?

Thanks for any help

That sounds like an ignition switch problem.....

do you think that also accounts for the dome light not coming on and the AC/blower motor not working?

I suspect the dome light is a separate issue. Check your IOD fuse. (ignition off draw.) That's where the dome lights gets power.

Ready for some fun?

Since you have to remove the dash to replace the fan, thanks dodge, I decided to double check the fan and make sure it's a bad component. I unplugged the old and plugged the new and it works. I plug in the old one and it works. Not only that the dome light kicked on as well.

I'm guessing I'm special and nobody else has run into this issue.

Probably an accurate assessment.

The whole "I am going to start working once you have the replacement parts in hand" thing is REALLY annoying.
