You have a short in the all black wire then. With the compressor unplugged, it should NOT have power. Need to trace that one, and see where it goes. It *should* go to a ground on the right side valve cover.

Ahh. That makes sense. Guess I have 2 issues. Why Im not getting ground to cycle relay and power pin 87. And I have to find out why I have power on the ground side of compressor all of the time.

So should I cut all black wire and run it to ground? Then figure out why pin 85 isnt being triggered by ground to power 87 and then the comoressor.

Thank you so much for your help

You could cut that wire, run it to a ground, tape off the other end of it..... but, I would be REAL interested in where the short it. That has the potential to cause other problems as well. Fix that one, then move on to why the PCM doesn't seem to want to engage the compressor.

Yeah. It seems this is all messed up. If I ground 85 tje relay triggers qnd sends power to pin 87. But normally im not getting ground and I have power to compressor all the time and no ground. I just dont know where to start here. All the harness looks intact and untouched.

Nothing has been tampered with or messed with outside of OEM. Im so lost. Its been a headache for 3 weeks.

Pull the cover off the harness, see where that ground wire goes. (it shouldn't be real long) With the compressor unplugged, there should NOT be power on the wire.

Thats what I will do. Ill trace what is now power and see where it goes as its supposed to be ground. I could just as soon cut it and make it a ground. Problem is Im still not getting ground from pcm to activaye the relay and power pin 87. So I have 2 issues. Unless the pcm sees the swapped polarity? You would think if I unplugged compressor it would try if that were the case. Seems Im slowly figuring this thing out.

Ill give that a try and see what I come up with

Thank you so much for the help

Just curious, you mentioned you replaced the PCM. Did this problem started after you replaced the PCM? when I replaced my PCM, my vehicle started to have odd issues, did some further checking, the replacement pcm had issues, replaced it with another replacement pcm and vehicle started up with zero issues.

Actually The PCM was replaced by an unrelated problem. But didnt function prior. So I dont think its the PCM and actually being replaced helps eliminate ut as an issue.

If I can find what pin grounds the relay. I can jist overlay the wire to the relay box. Does anyone know what one does this? I know plug 3 either pin 1 or 11 but both of those are blank terminals in the PCM plug.

That may explain why it never triggers the relay...... What color is the wire coming from the relay socket?
