Default 2001 R/T: Which Radiator?

I have to replace the original radiator. I'm having trouble finding one at NAPA/Advance/AutoZone/Oreilley's that is right for the factory tow package. One at Advance says 'w/HD cooling' and another for 'Exc factory tow pkg'. Most don't mention cooling level.

If you have a factory tow package and replaced the radiator, what did you use?? I tow 6000 lbs on occasion and live in the southwest, so cooling is important.

HD Cooling *might* be something that comes with the tow package. Get a build sheet for your truck, and see if it has anything interesting to say. (Can get one here.)

im 90% sure the HD cooling was included with the tow package, but im not sure exactly what the difference is in the radiator.

Tow package def has HD cooling. This was my research back when I replaced mine. Keep in mind I have a 4.7L, not sure what fits yours.

I think one of the differences is accommodating the aux trans cooler, which bolts to the lower front of the radiator between it and the AC unit. I'm doing the job tomorrow (Tues) and wanted to get the radiator today. I think I'll get the Advance one with HD cooling stated.

From the short googling I did, looks like they use the same radiators. I would highly consider the CSF.

The CSF on Advance web site specifically said 'without factory tow pkg', which I definitely have.

I got the CSF 3516 which was higher capacity than anything you could find in the parts stores. Amazon says it's compatible with 2000-2004 Daks.

Which one are you seeing at Advance?

I got the one from Advance Auto Parts, Carquest Premium, lifetime warranty. It installed fine and had all the mount points, including for the optional aux trans cooler, which I think is part of the tow package.

Followup question in the project... I had to disco three trans cooler lines that were in place since new. I didn't change the o-rings, but should have (small sweeping leak now). Does anyone know the size of those o-rings?
