Default turns over, but won't stay on

Hello everybody. Thank you having me part of this forum. It has been a while since I have posted on one, so please bare with me with I do or say something wrong.

Spent the last hour looking for an answer to my issue, but either the answer isn't up here yet or I have lost my forum searching touch.

Currently, my 2000 Durango stopped staying on. Turns over, turns on, but as soon as it gets going it dies down and shuts off. All electrical works from my understanding. Battery is new when I got the truck a couple months ago. Truck was running great the day before. It was pushed a bit more due to the distance we drove it, but never felt any sort of issue. Got home safely, but the next morning is when I realized the issue at hand.

Can anybody give me any pointers? Has anybody had this issue before?

Some other information on the truck...
4.7 v8
4x4 (don't know if it works yet)
unknown mileage (part on dash is broken, looks tampered. anybody have a fix so I can know the actual milage of this dodge?)
had a mild-rough idle. didn't pay much mind on it because thought it was due to it being an old v8, but now have made note of it

If there is any other information I can provide, please let me know. Tomorrow morning will try to check it out, but would like some pointers as in to what sort of things to look for.

Thanks in advance,

Start with cleaning the throttle body REALLY well.

Also, if you have a rough idle, that is likely a contributor as well. Pull a couple plugs, see what is in there, and what they look like.

Are you getting any codes? CEL on??
