My 2003 Durango’s transfer case (nv244) got a crack in it about five years ago so I parked it to worry about later. Later finally came about two weeks ago and while my original plan was to jb weld the crack, upon further inspection I found that the case was cracked in multiple places and jb weld was clearly not going to be much help.

I was going to go with another 244 but the price for one is crazy so I thought of switching it out with a nv233 as it was cheaper and I don’t care if it’s AWD or not. But then I saw that Jeeps nv247 seems to be identical and I found used ones for just over $100 (not counting tax and shipping). While I might buy local instead of that site, I was curious if it was compatible with Durangos and if it is I will include that in my search. I’m assuming if spline number is the same it should be good but I still have yet to find specs on it so looking for advice.
