Idle Air Control valve - OEM?
I have a 2000 Durango with a 5.2l V8. I’ve had issues with the idle in the past and have usually addressed them by cleaning the idle air control valve (IAC). Recently I have tried replacing the IAC with aftermarket ones from Amazon. None of them have seems to adjust properly. I get rough idles and dying engine after starts. Sometimes they idle high for a long time before settling in.
is this normal? Will they eventually synch with the ECU and function properly?
anyone have a recommendation for a good aftermarket IAC? Or..any idea where I can get a reasonable OEM IAC for the Dodge 5.2 V8?
Thanks!!

I have had zero success with the aftermarket IAC motors. They either react to slow, or, too much..... The Mopar sensors work great. (oddly enough)
If you didn't reset the PCM when you changed it, you could try doing that.... Just disconnect the battery, turn on headlights, turn off headlights, reconnect battery, turn ignition to "on", (not start) count to 10, don't touch ANYTHING. THEN start the truck. If its going to work, it should figure out idle pretty quick.... If it's still problematic, get a genuine MOPAR IAC, repeat the reset procedure, and call it a day.
