Hi, I had leak on my high pressure hose. Saw it using UV dye. I replaced the hose and put in a new drier. Hooked up my manifold and vacuumed the system. Closed my hot and low sides and waited to make sure vacuum held. Then attached my 30lbs tank on my scale to refill. Then turned on the truck and the A/C then open my bottle up (bled a few seconds) then opened up my low side manifold dial. The gas isn't being sucked into the system which has be baffled. Do I need to manually jump the clutch via the fuse box with these systems?

 

If there is a vacuum on the system, but it isn't pulling in refrigerant when it should, there is a blockage between the tank, and where your gauge connects to the line.

 

Thanks @HeyYou , so today just repeated the process, my low side gauge did bump up when I opened it. So a bit of freon did get sucked in. However, seems like a small amount based on the scale. I have climate controls in the passenger row so based on the label the system takes 2.44lbs. After that small amount got in the system, clutch doesn't seem to kick on to freon to the other side.

 

Probably pressure is still to low for the compressor to cycle.... Is there a regulator in-line between the the tank, and the truck? I know some will close off if flow is to enthusiastic.

And pressure in the tank should be more than enough to push refrigerant into the system..... At least, I would like to think so.

 

Did you add oil?
