Default Newbie question with hard start

Ok it’s 2000 Durango SLT 4.7,
try to start it and it will crank for about 3 to 4 seconds and slowly start to fire, but if you stop and turn the key again it fires right up, that’s pretty consistent, won’t start the first time unless you crank for awhile but if you turn it over again starts right up. If you hold it till it starts it kinda feels like it chugs a little bit then idles fine. Any help? Plugs are good cleaned throttle body clean air filter.

Try cycling the key on-off, on-start.... Listen for the fuel pump to run the first cycle, off when the pump stops, then on, pause, crank. See if it starts right up then.

Bad check valve in the fuel pump; More annoying than anything else. Just cycle the key a time or two before the first cold start of the day.... Otherwise, its replace the entire fuel pump module.
