Default Heat Shields on Spark Plugs

'01 Durango

How do I work around the heat shields on the spark plugs? Are they removable? Do I need to spread out at the open seam? I can't get spark plug socket in deep enough to get contact with the plugs.

You might be using the wrong wrench. I believe it is a 5/8. Not a 13/16.

Are you using Deep Sockets? Cause i just changed mine today and put in some new Bosch +2 plugs, and new Plug Wires. I can really notice the difference. Took me about an hour cause i took my time.
