Default 2000 durango 5.9 Mods

I have a 5.9 magnum durango and i want it to make around 500hp or something around that the engine has 213k on it i would probaly rebuild it if i did that and put some new fresh hardware on im told a racing intake manifold and i want to cam it i dont know what kind of cam to put on it but i want something lopey and maybe heads i will probaly put a magnaflow magnapack on it or something thats not too loud and not quiet like around 80 or 90 decbils but the engine was a daily driver until around 2012 when my dad had got a p305 misfire code and he took it off the road but has since went away it was used as a farmtruck off and on and when it wasnt used as a farmtruck it was sitting until september it was well maitained i will probaly put a performance throttle body on it and maybe some headers and NO TURBOS because of turbo lag but im open to sugestions

Punch it out to 408, Hughes Air Gap intake, 52mm throttle body, a streetable cam, heads with larger valves, roller rockers probably wouldn't hurt either.... free flowing exhaust, and you should be able to manage 400 or so DRIVEABLE horsepower. Going with a meaner cam will make the truck problematic to drive on the street..... (and don't forget the custom tune to make the engine run properly....)

If you really wanna hit that 500 number, then forced induction is probably the only way you will get there... But, if you are gonna go with boost, then build then engine with that in mind.

Nope. Bore and stroke the motor. There are kits for it. Bumps it up to 408 cubic inches.

NOTHING beats the almighty cubic inch.
