Hey folks. Just got the engine finally pulled today and about to start the teardown here soon on my 5.9 Durango and I noticed my flex plate has counter weights? do all 5.9 come with these, o don't recall the 5.2 having one, and if so what are they counter balancing? I'm replacing my crank as well as my harmonic balancer during the rebuild and don't want that to cause issue
5.2 is internal balance, 5.9 is external balance, so, the weights are normal.
Your leak is a freeze plug, so, coolant, not oil. Replace ALL of them with a nice set of brass plugs.
Of course I'm a dumb lol that's why so many people call them freeze plugs instead of core/casting plugs. Well let me rephrase, I found my coolant leak. 🤣

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger there. We've all been there, done that, and have the t-shirt stashed at the bottom of the drawer.
