PCV is a controlled vacuum leak. I like to get the Mopar PCV valves, as they are actually the correct flow rate. They are cheap, so, worth changing out.

Take a look into the plenum anyway. See any oil pooling in there?

@ruggles As far as downshifting have you double checked your TV cable and make sure it is adjusted correctly?
I was having issues with my Durango short shifting and I thought I had the cable set correctly but I was incorrect, I was only off by maybe .3/16" but that made a huge improvement, Shifts much better it now acts exactly as I always thought it should.
Just an Idea

I actually adjusted the cable yesterday and it seems to shift much better now. Will throw the boat on it this weekend and see how she tows uphill!
