Every single you tube video or any sort of info on replacing the lower ball joints all mention removing the circlip/eclip the retainer dodad then pressing it out through the bottom pressing new one in and re installing that clip.
Anyone know WTF I have exactly i never seen one like this where the section is folded over the control arm to secure it, can I even replace these ? I was just like WTF when I seen thos (I have pics)
I am noticing the durango seems to have many different parts depending on how the employees felt that day??
Like 15mm, 18 mm 22 mm rear sway bars, 33mm 35 mm front sway bars, upper ball joints riveted in place or maybe bolted in depending on ??
This is starting to get frustrating so far I found rear sway bar is not a 15 its a 18 so I got incorrect parts and now this lower ball joint issues Lower B joint no clip folded over arm Pic 2 in case 1 sucks The replacement looking exactly like every one I seen on many videos and searching online for parts
Also how do you get the torsion bar out of the lower arm just have to talk nice to it??
I did find the rolll pin and drove it back out of lower arm so that is not holding me up just need a trick or ?? I soaked them real good with B Blaster stuff boy that stuff smells great New Cologne

So funny just after i posted this all of a sudden i seen some threads talking about the OEM/Factory installed Lower B Joints are mentioned just like my pictures and i guess all i need to do is grind the Swedges (Whatever they call bending the part over to act as a anchor or Snap ring (That's the name I could not recall earlier) then I hope there is a groove in the lower control arm for the new included snap ring. I will let you know tomorrow (Sunday) If I can get the torsion bar to release so I can pull the arm off vehicle.
am shocked as to how much play is in the bushings as well as all the B joints are way past wore out
I also seen some pocket in the frame that's supposed to hold some sort of compression device to keep the frame and control arm from beating each other to death which seems to have went AWOL long ago
The control arm doesn't have to come out to replace the ball joints. So then neither does the torsion bar.
yeah the original ones are swedged. But the groove you're asking about is in the replacement ball joint not the control arm
