Default transmission shift cable/exhaust problem (she's almost done!)

So wrapping up my Durango build after about 7 months and after the startup and everything I've come into a problem, my trans shift cable is to close to exhaust and started to melt. It's salvageable for now until I can make a junkyard run and find one since they don't seem to make these anymore.

Anyone got any tricks to heat proof this so It doesn't melt? I was thinking exhaust wrape because it's on my docket anyway with aftermarket headers and how hot they get, but I'm not sure if that will be enough.

Wrap the pipes, and then put a heat shield between the pipe, and shift cable. Secure it however you can. Need that air gab between the shield, and the pipe, and between the shield, and the cable.
